Surprising Defender Deal Sealed

Surprising Defender Deal Sealed

United, ahead of the fixture with Everton tonight; have made a surprise dip into the transfer market.

All summer it has been acknowledged that Sir Alex Ferguson was looking for cover, at left-back, for Patrice Evra.

Amongst the names touted were Baines (Everton), Taylor (Swansea) and Cole (Chelsea).

However, Sir Alex has decided to bring the Vitesse Arnheim defender Alex Buttner to Old Trafford.

United have agreed to pay Vitesse Arnhem in the region of £4 million for the twenty-three year old who, remarking about the move, is quoted a shaving said,

"This is a dream come true."

Buttner had expressed a desire to move to the Premier League and, prior to signing with United, had been linked with a move to either Fulham, Queens Park Rangers or Southampton.

We wish him well in his new environment.

Wll I'm glad the LB position is sorted. Not the deal anyone expected and to be honest I don't really know much about the player, however I'm sure his been well scouted and is the most suitable player for the role he fills at the club.

Finally some cover at lb don't know if he's good or not time will tell I suppose. Least we have some competition for Evra maybe he might up his game a bit now
