'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Marriage Made in Heaven?

It`s the most talked about transfer of the summer - United signing Robin Van Persie.

With the deal done and dusted yesterday, Van Persie explained why he signed for United, remarking,

"Why United? They breathe football. The choice was made very soon in my mind. You look at all the players, the stadium, the manager - it`s all here."

"I think that everyone knows me by now. I love football."

"It`s always difficult to find a perfect match but I think this is a perfect match for me."

"I`m proud to be here and I`m looking forward to achieving big things at Old Trafford."

"For me it is just a big challenge to do it together."

"I`d like to be part of that, they have done it already and I`d like to help them do it again."

And as for his choice of the #20 shirt, he further explained,

"The reason I took this shirt is because we`re all here to be champions this year and that would mean a 20th league title for Manchester United."

"Last year United missed the title by one minute - but that can make you hungrier for success this time."

"That`s a vital aspect of the game, in my opinion."

Is it a marriage made in heaven, I guess we`ll soon find out!

Hopefully it proves to be the perfect match. I love his reason for choosing the number 20 also.

Come on number 20 wonder if he'll get a run out at Everton

I'm sure he will, Fergie did say he will make his debut against Everton. Whether he meant that as a sub or starter I don't know.
