Cleverley Makes England Bow

Cleverley Makes England Bow

Tom Cleverley finally got his first full England cap last night.

Cleverley, who missed out on achieving that fact due to the friendly (this time last year) against Holland being postponed, due to the London riots played a leading role in the 2-1 victory over Italy.

Speaking about making his debut and getting that cherished first cap, Cleverley had this to say to the media afterwards,

"It was a proud moment for me, a big occasion in any footballers life."

"I managed to get on the ball and hopefully I impressed the manager."

I`d imagine he did but it has to be pointed out that Roy Hodgson chose to rest several of his regular starting eleven last night although the current England boss did have a few words to say about his talented youngster, remarking,

"He has been playing for Team GB and it was great for him to make his England debut."

It certainly was.
