An Alternative Target

An Alternative Target

The quest to land the Everton left-back Leighton Baines looks to be faltering.

Everton`s insistence that a deal for £20 million would land the player appears to be a major stumbling block.

Therefore, we`re not entirely surprised to read this morning that the press are now insinuating that as the new season approaches Sir Alex Ferguson could possibly be eyeing up another target with the name in the frame being that of the cultured Swansea left-back Neil Taylor.

Taylor`s rise to fame, since Swansea achieved promotion to the Premier League, has continued with his inclusion in the Team GB squad for the recent 2012 Olympic games; in London.

Can a deal be struck before the season opener against Everton, on Monday evening?

Stay tuned and we`ll see?

Come on guys, admit it - the pursuit of Leighton Baines never really got started, did it?
