Van Persie Deal Gets Closer!

This potential transfer has had more twists and turns than a rollercoaster!

The will-he, won`t-he, debate goes on as to whether Robin Van Persie will become a United player.

The latest offering from the various media sources is that it is now looking more likely by the day.

The general consensus of opinion this morning is that Arsenal are set to break the habit of a lifetime and sell one of their players to United.

Following the rough reception Van Persie received from the Arsenal support in their latest friendly, allied with the fact that Juventus are reluctant to increase their offer, thought to be in the region of £15 million, it looks as if Arsene Wenger is ready to accept a reputed bid of £22 million for the Dutch striker.

Resetting the scene, Van Persie netted 30 Premier League goals last season and 37 in all competitions, at 29 years of age the Dutch striker has a lot to give still an dif the deal goes through then we`ll all be looking forward to Van Persie forming a great partnership with Wayne Rooney.

I'll only believe when I see it. It'll be great seeing the club sign a player of RVP quality. Hopefully his injuries and fitness concerns are well and truly behind him and we don't blow 20 mil on the Van Persie that could only manage 50% of Arsenals games over 7 years (I believe that was the stat). Still think he's simply reflects a luxury buy in a position where we already have plenty of talent.

United sign a 29 year old player and make him their joint top wage-earner? PMSL! I guess they had to change tack from the "nae value in the market" tactic that was wearing so thin with so many of your fans.

Agree with famous RVP is a luxury buy we don't really need but if we get the same performance arsenal did last season we'll be laughing. On another note hark the blue making comments on massive wages. Pot kettle black springs to mind.
MotorMad
Who's the best paid player in the PL Motormad?
Bluedub
Fair play we have Rooney on frankly ridiculous wages. But city's wage bill is just insane you can't sell anyone due to stupendous wages and so have to resort to paying players to play elsewhere.
MotorMad
Fair enough we pay Rooney the most money on in the league but to get on your high horse when you have the highest wage bill in the premier league wage, the last time I checked, heavily outweighed your revenue is just ridiculous. Oh and by the way Yaya Toure is on the same basic wage in which Rooney is on (both on 180k a week I believe), Rooney only takes poll position due to earning more from bonuses, merchandising and all the other ridiculous ****** players get paid for.
TheFamousNo7
No high horses regarding wages guys. I simply don't believe your lot can afford it.
fifthcolumnblue
No doubt we have to be careful with our finances however I can't imagine any wages being given out which we can't afford. The wage bill must've dropped significantly with the players that have left in the past year and will fall further with other pending departures.
TheFamousNo7
TF7, where did you get that from about Yaya? You're wrong.
