United to secure RVP?

United to secure RVP?

The Internet is awash with rumours that United's pursuit of Robin van Persie will soon be successful?

United's rivals Man City earlier this week "ruled out" signing the Arsenal striker with reports claiming that Juventus have also "pulled out of the race" so the 36-goal man from last season will become a United player, and as soon as this evening...

Once van Persie (if he is) is officially confirmed as a United signing that is when it can be believed, until then it's just further speculation to add to the weekend reports that he was actually prepared to stay at Arsenal!

I still can't see it happening. I can only see on other club doing a late swoop and getting like we've seen with our targets before. Arsenal won't want to sell to us and I can't see that stance budging, I think they'd sooner see him leave for nothing to somewhere foreign than to us. Can't see where he would fit into our system either, him and Rooney play the same position unless Rooney is dropped into a CM role. We dont need another striker and RVP would be a luxury signing who might not work out, afterall he has had only 1 fully fit good season. If we were to sign from arsenal let it be song or Wilshere or someone of that ilk who can provide us with what we need, not an excessive luxury buy where we already have a wealth of talent.... Not that I would mind seeing RVP playing for us, its just there's other players I'd sooner see us sign.

Think your spot on famous RVP is a luxury buy we probably don't need. Still wouldn't mind having him just got to keep him fit. But really cannot see Wenger selling to us unless the board go over his head but he'd probably walk if they did.
