'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A bigger part in something smaller

When you leave Old Trafford virtually anywhere is a step down but sometimes you have to accept this is what you need to do.

And Michael Owen is going to have to accept a step down in quality if he is to try to resurrect his career after being released by Sir Alex Ferguson earlier in the summer.

Moves overseas haven't come off for Owen but Stoke are one of those in this country that are believed to be ready to offer him a chance to continue his career in the premier league and his former England teammate Peter Crouch has urged him to make this slight step down, not that he sees Stoke as a step down mind!

Crouch's thoughts that it is better to play a big part in something smaller that is growing than a small part in something bigger are wise words and Owen could do well to take these views on board as he could do a lot worse than ending up at The Britannia Stadium couldn't he?
