Evans boost

Evans boost

Mike Phelan has revealed that he expects Jonny Evans to be fit for the start of the season.

Evans underwent ankle surgery this summer, on the injury that ended his season last time round prematurely, but has returned to "light work" and although he isn't going to have pre-season games that others have "if he's fit and progressing well" Phelan insists that United will have no qualms about bringing him in.

With Chris Smalling having a setback on his bid to regain fitness following his broken foot the fitness of Evans is all the more important.

Good news he was great last season. Hopefully this season can put any worries of him to rest, as we've seen him perform great one season and rubbish the next before.

Hopefully we get the good Evans back. Not the one that always seems about 10 seconds away from a cock up
