'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cleverley backed

Everyone connected to Manchester United know what Tom Cleverley can do and with (hopefully) his injury problems behind him he can kick-on.

His involvement at the Olympics this summer with the Team GB football side would have served him well and helped his fitness, going to The Ukraine and Poland with England would have been Cleverley's preferred summer tournament but injury put paid to this last season.

The Olympics have provided a good platform for the midfielder who would have undergone a decent pre-season programme and got involved in competitive action quickly, and he can now link-up with United following the exit of Team GB a few days ago.

Such have been Cleverley's performances though Stuart Pearce has backed him to push his England claims again this season and few would disagree with his chances of doing this if he can perform to his best and stay injury-free.
