Vidic returns in Valerenga draw

Manchester United kicked-off their Scandinavian tour with a draw in Norway against Valerenga on Sunday.

United had chances with Paul Scholes, Danny Welbeck, Luis Antonio Valencia, Anderson and Javier Hernandez all going close but none could take them, either missing the target or being denied by blocks or saves.

Rooney turned defender to clear a Valerenga effort off the line in the 0-0 draw.

The match time for a number of the United stars is the main plus here, with Rooney, Welbeck, Nani and Ashley Young all playing for the first time since Euro 2012 but the biggest plus of all was a 60-minute run-out for Nemanja Vidic as he returned from his cruciate injury last season.

Glad that Vidic is back should stabilize the defense which was shaky at best without him last season. Really should have won that match but poor finishing and good keeping put pay to that.
