Olympic dream dies

Olympic dream dies

The Olympic dream for Manchester United's Team GB contingent Ryan Giggs and Tom Cleverley died on Saturday night with penalties, quite literally, costing then a semi final place.

Both featured for Team GB in their quarter final against South Korea, Cleverley for the full game and Giggsy as a late substitute, but despite both doing what they had to it wasn't enough to inspire GB to victory on an otherwise glorious day, and night, for Great Britain...

A missed penalty during the game itself, from Aaron Ramsey, meant that the game eventually ended in a 1-1 draw and despite both Giggs and Cleverley scoring from the spot in the shootout a miss by Daniel Sturridge proved decisive with Team GB going on to lose 5-4 on penalties.

Looks like the English penalty curse is still going strong you just need England internationals in the squad now. Why did Ramsey take the first 2 penalties they were both poor. Surely Bellamy should have took them? Or at least put himself forward being the most experienced man on the pitch at the time. Aaron looked bloody petrified least he redeemed himself with the third.
