Giggs Rested

Giggs Rested

Tuning into the Olympic Football tournament yesterday, the captain of Team GB, Ryan Giggs, was conspicuous by his absence.

Instead of watching Ryan lead the youngsters to glory over Uruguay and a subsequent quarter-final date with South Korea, the only glimpses we got of Ryan were of the Welshman urging the side on from the bench.

It transpires that Ryan was rested last night with the Team GB boss, Stuart Pearce, remarking,

"Ryan felt a bit stiff after our second match and it was not worth risking him."

"We will see how he settles before the weekend and then pick a team we hope can beat South Korea."

My money is on Ryan leading the side out this weekend, although I should add that a fool and his money are easily parted!
