Kagawa - Emulating Ji-Sung

United continue to grind out results on what is fast looking like a pre-season world tour.

The latest victory, in China, saw Shinji Kagawa score the only goal of the game.

After the game, our Japanese acquisition spoke about following in the footsteps of Ji-Sung Park, a professional who is held in high regard by all those who follow United in Asia, with Kagawa commenting,

"This is only the beginning for me."

"But Ji-Sung Park is the best player Asia has ever produced - there`s no doubt about that."

"He played regularly for United for a long time and I can`t be sure how long it will take me to establish myself in the team like him. But I will always work hard to do so."

"Watching him play for United motivated me a lot. I began to truly believe Asian players could play in big clubs."

"I was expecting we could help each other and play together At United. It`s a shame that he left."

Indeed it is but, as they say, time waits for no one and all good things come to an end.

Why emulate him when you can clearly be better than him? We loved Park here yeah, moreso because of his workrate and attitude than his actual ability. He's not going to go down as a club legend but more of a fan favourite. Kagawa on teh other hand possesses the attitude, work rate and technical ability to be better than Park and surpass the impact he made at the club.

Was thinking along the same lines Famous. No need to emulate when he blatantly has the ability to surpass. Park was a good player for us and gave his all but was lacking in technical ability when compared to Kagawa.
