Old Trafford Last Night

Old Trafford Last Night

What a surreal evening that turned out to be!

With Team GB taking on Senegal in their opening fixture of the football tournament, Old Trafford was packed to the rafters.

But the crowd packed inside Old Trafford bore little resemblance to those that normally frequent the familiar place.

Apart from the occasion barracking Craig Bellamy received, and deservedly so may we add, the silence was deafening.

It would appear, to me, that although the ticket sales, for Old Trafford, were exceptional, the Olympic football brigade are far, far removed from those that hang on to everything the Premier League has to offer.

It was almost as if those sat inside Old Trafford had never been to a match before and were anxiously sitting and watching how the others performed and perhaps the nail in the coffin as far as us football fanatics go was when the Mexican wave started with less than ten minutes played!

Shocking, the whole scenario, if you ask me!

Old Trafford hardly has an electric atmosphere when we're playing anyway let alone some randomly assembled below average side with no real fans supporting it.

Should get better as a team but just can't get behind them myself. What are you supposed to chant for a team that never existed. The problem is football in this country is tribal. Its each to their own
