'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rio - Always Available

Only last week Sir Alex Ferguson implied that he didn`t think Rio Ferdinand would play for England again.

Now that may very well be the case but, in a sparkling interview in the tabloid press this morning, Rio has admitted that he`s not thrown in the towel yet on his international career, commenting,

"I said that if I was not playing in the summer, I did not see myself playing in the future."

"But I would never retire from international football. I will always be available but my main focus is playing for Manchester United."

"I won`t be miffed if I`m not in the England squad because I don`t see myself being part of it any more."

"It`s gone, this is a new season, that has happened."

"The Euros is finished, England played the way they did and the tournament has finished."

Will Roy Hodgson select Rio again or has that phase of his career long gone?

Still rate him more highly than most CB options for the national team and i wouldn't consider him worse than Lescott and Terry either. If he doesn't play for England again all the better for us.
