Courting Moura

Although the press insinuation is that our latest bid for the Brazilian midfielder Lucas Moura has been rejected, he is still being actively encouraged ot come to Old Trafford.

Rafael, when pushed on the subject of Moura coming to Manchester, after Brazil had made Team GB look like a pub side, Rafael gave the game away by responding,

"Yes. Yes."

"And yes, I have told him he should come to Manchester United."

Well let`s get the deal done shall we.

Watched the friendly match and I was happy with Rafaels performance he done well not that he had any serious threat down his flank. Moura looked a great dribbler of the ball and the defence didnt know how to handle him or what to do, he left them uncertain however he looks very raw and needs some work he doesn't quite know when's a good time to pass. However, Olympics/national/Brazilian league football isn't of the same standard as the of the premier league and It's a big risk as we can only guess how he'd cope with the physicality and intensity of the premier league and how would he get on if he were man marked.

With Rafael talking to the press about how Moura is excited about the prospect of a move to our club the must be some serious substance in the story rather than the bidding war I initially believed Sao Paulo were trying to spark with false claims over our interest. However that said with Fergies recent comments again about value in the market I can't see us signing Moura for anything near the prices being quoted if we sign him at all. Sao Paulo are pricing him out of a move. If Fergie wasn't willing to spend 35 mil, in his words we offered something lower than that, then I can't see us spending 30 mil on an unproven youngster from Brazil.
