It Was Never Going to Be

It Was Never Going to Be

There are some interesting comments printed in the tabloid press this morning that relate to Wayne Rooney.

Having copped a load of flak for under-performing in the Euro 2012 tournament, once he had served his suspension, Sir Alex Ferguson has inferred that Wayne was never going to be on top of his game, remarking,

"If Wayne misses a couple of games it takes three or four for him to get back."

"He needs a lot of games and I always thought it would be difficult for him at the Euros because his last game was May 13th."

"He didn`t play until the third group game."

"I don`t know what his stats were but he certainly didn`t look as sharp as he did against Ukraine."

Perhaps the correct decision should have been to leave him at home then!

He's your typical English player anyway whereby he's good in bursts but as soon as you knock the good forms momentum he's more of a hinderance than a help.
