Is Van Persie Coming?

There`s a bold prediction gracing the back page of the Daily Mirror this morning.

One of their leading journalists has gone out on a limb and run with a story whereby the inference is that Sir Alex Ferguson believes that his persuasive tongue has tempted the want-away Arsenal striker, Robin Van Persie, to join Manchester United.

With Van Persie conspicuous by his absence in the latest Arsenal merchandise catalogue the assumption is that the Dutchman will not be allowed to run his contract down but will, instead, be sold.

Competition, as you`d imagine, for his signature is fierce but the reference journalist seems convinced that Sir Alex believes that next season Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie will be the striking combination to strike fear into the rest of the Premier League.

Myself, I`m not so sure.

Wouldn't wipe my a**e with the mirror. All just speculative tabloid bulls**t. They know as much about our next signing as Michael Fish knows about the weather forecast.
