Will The Real Hernandez Stand-Up!

Having had such a great first season, last season might well have been a bit of a disappointment for Javier Hernandez.

Although he scored some crucial goals, his overall impact wasn`t as good as many had hoped it had been.

Perhaps that may well have been down to the fact that he missed a proportion of the pre-season build-up after suffering a head injury / concussion after being struck by the ball in pre-season training.

This time around though, as the new season approaches, Javier is confident that he can get back to his best form, the form he showed in that first season, remarking to the media on our tour of South Africa,

"I want to keep improving."

"And I intend to work hard in order to repay the people that put their trust in me. I know I need to keep learning - you never stop learning."

"I also know I need to be more professional on and off the pitch and I want to make sure I`m ready for the new season."

"I really enjoyed my summer break in Mexico with all my family and friends but I have to say I was missing not being at Carrington."

Hopefully, a full pre-season campaign coupled with a refreshing break will see a revitalized Chicharito.

Didn't think he was that bad last season. Bearing in mind he didn't have that many long runs in the team plus second season syndrome. Most defenders have had a look or played against him now so are better equipped to deal with him. He's not so much a unknown now.

He still managed 1 goal every 3 appearances getting 12 goals in 36 appearances and bear in my these appearances were largely substitute appearances and he never really played many full games. Not a bad return and I don't think he was a one season wonder as much as he was tired after 3 straight seasons without a break and playing 2nd fiddle to an in form Welbeck.
