'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Berbatov Update (#35)

Displaying his stuff down in Durban yesterday evening, Dimitar Berbatov showed his skills by providing the perfect through ball for Macheda to score United`s winner.

But, following his Facebook outburst, his future looks as cloudy as ever although listening to Sir Alex Ferguson discussing his player after the conclusion of the fixture last night, it`s clear that Dimitar does have some kind of future at Old Trafford, with the boss remarking,

"I don`t need to hail the ability of Dimitar. He is a fantastic player."

"Last season he didn`t play the amount of football he wanted. So it`s difficult for him at his age to accept being behind the other forwards."

"He has a future, there`s no question about that and I`m quite easy about it. If he stays I`m happy, but if someone comes and wants him then we`ll have to assess that."

Clearly the crux of the problem is that Dimitar, at thirty-one years of age, doesn`t want to be a bit-pat player and wants to see a lot more of the action than he did last season!

Why are we happy to keep him on 90k a week for the rest of the year and lose out on a potential 5 mil recoup on him when he doesnt want to be here and we don't want him or need him. Ship him out, let's not waste anymore of either parties time, he's a quality player and deserves first team football.
