United - Clyne Not Coming

Our apparent interest in signing the young and very talented Crystal Palace full back, Nathaniel Clyne, looks to be at an end.

Clyne, chased by numerous other clubs, is, we understand, set to put pen-to-paper on a four year deal with newly promoted Southampton.

I guess it`s a case of the youngster recognizing that down on the south coast he`ll probably get a higher amount of first team games.

Shame really as on a free transfer par the compensation that would be owed I reckon he could've been a good fullback for us and there really would've been no risk involved. He'll provide competition and the natural RB back up we needed in the squad. Best of luck to the lad.
