'If It's Football, It's Vital'

AmaZulufc 0 United 1

United, in their first pre-season game, earned a 1-0 win against a gallant AmaZulu FC side.

The winning goal came in the twentieth minute when twenty year old Federico Macheda emphasized that he may still have a long-term future at Old Trafford by slotting home neatly an assist from Dimitar Berbatov.

However, our hosts fought well and it needed the excellence of Anders Lindegaard to pull off a couple of fine saves to ensure that Sir Alex Ferguson got the win.

After the game, speaking about the match-winner, Federico Macheda, Sir Alex had this to say,

"He`s a fantastic talent. The boy wants to play and I`m happy about that."

One pre-season match down, several more to go!
