'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rooney Listed!

Despite Manchester United crashing out of the Champions League in the group stages and then crashing out of the Europa League at the first hurdle, one of our squad has been recognized by UEFA.

Wayne Rooney is amongst the thirty-two names selected in the shake-up to be nominated UEFA`s best player at the shin-dig in Nyon whereby the draw for the group stages of the Champions League for the season 2012 / 2013 will be carried out.

Will Wayne scoop the top-award? Somehow we don`t think so this time around. That honour will more than likely go to a player of one of the four semi-finalists, because that`s how these things work isn`t it?

One of the four semi-finalists? Bollox! It's always a two horse race between Real Madrid players and Barcelona players or better yet Messi v Ronaldo. Well I say race it's not much of a race as whilst Ronaldo is a step above everyone else in world football unbelievably Messi is a step above that still with goals as well as assists rather than just one (though in fairness to Ronaldo he is trying to adapt his game at Madrid to serve the team more and as a result got plenty of assists last seasons to go with his goals). To be honest, I wouldn't say any of the champions league winners players deserve to be there, they won the tournament like a rich stoke city, didn't really display any skill just great defending and efficiency with the ball.

Rooney has no chance of winning it. As Famous said will probably be Ronaldo or Messi. Even though Bayern and Chelsea reached the final neither had a stand out star. It was just pure team work and efficiency that got them through. A very pre 2010 Germany like performance
