Modric Latest

Having baulked at the suggestion that Spurs wanted 40 million for Luka Modric, it looks as if they`ll be recouping far less than that for his sale.

The press is rife with reports that Real Madrid will be signing the Croatian and that personal terms are being discussed.

The fee - 28 million!

any english team would have needed over 40 million to have him, 30 mil from madrid is acceptable imo

there is no chance that Spurs will deal at 28 mil for Modric, especially when they turned down a rumoured 40 mil bid from Chelsea last summer.

whilst i would not rule out Modric leaving, you can rest assured it would be for far more money than that, if he does.

Oh well such a shame, who the press continuously link us with now? Hopefully this drawn out saga and rumour will finally die.

All this summer's Modric stories are as definite as last summer's ones. Now as then it was all as good as done. All the 'money rules' fundamentalists were preaching to the sceptics and non-believers. Then as now, were reeled off in the empty gossip the ever more numerous supposed replacements for Modric. I would be surprised if Modric left Spurs anytime soon.

Would think that if Modric leaves Spurs it will be to some eam outside the premiership. Ley won't want to strengthen Man U or Chelsea.

I can see Modric playing for united as a perfect replacement for scholes, although the creation is not as good at scoring so I doubt united board a dumb enough or as dumb as chelski to pay over the odds. 28 million is a great return as it is close to double what spurs paid for him, to be honest, Madrid would be ideal so he can't strengthen a rival, all in all he will be gone and spurs will be the ones coming out laughing.

Hope he goes to Madrid didn't want him. He's a good player but some of you spurs fans need your heads examined. If you think he's worth that amount of money.

Modric is good a player but he's not worth the money Mr Levy is demanding. I'd not buy him for 40 million pounds; may be a maximum of 25million pounds, i'd rather Lazio's Hernanes. Anyway i think he'll be a perfect fit for my Chelsea no matter the price but if he doesn't join us, we have other options open and we are going to surprise the ranting media with a Marin-like deal.

It's like this was written by a spoilt child. "urrghh you wanted 40 and now you're only getting 28" Where did you get that bit of info? behind the bike shed? Maybe Modders has agreed terms with Real andmaybe they want to pay 28m but that don't count for ****. Is he worth 40m? of course not, will we get 40m? probably not. But if he's sold to a Prem' team it'll be nearer 40 than 28.

I'll say this though. If Moutinho is worth 20, modders is worth at least 30. You lot look at the assists and goals columns and think he's over-rated, yet we see him week in week out and see all the play he breaks up and all the plays he starts. He's the pass before the killer ball. The pass that sends Bale away down the wing to cross for an assist. I was the same with Parker, i knew he got stuck in but didn't know how much ground he covers and stuff like that. If you got him, within a year you'd be well glad you had him...but you won't so..ner ner nener ner :)

Utd fans make me laugh! You've always talked about other teams players like they're yours, just cos you want them. It's funny how you're all saying things like, I wouldn't pay 40m, he's not worth it. Maybe you're making these comments because you've no-longer got the financial clout to bully clubs into selling you their stars. I think that if you still had the financial monopoly that you had a few years back when you bullied us into giving you Babytov, you'd be saying lets get him, 40m + whatever it takes, just like City & Chavsea do! But you don't like it now it's not you lot anymore who takes all the talent. Well I've got news for you, you lot set the bench mark, you lot always muscled other teams into getting what you want, always taking all the talent, being greedy! You've expected the best players to want to join utd for many years now, cos you reckoned you were the only real choice for a good player. Times are different now, now you're gonna be more like us. The playing field is beginning to even up, especially with the soon to be fair play rules and you're somewhat problematic financial situation. Good luck for the future, happy moaning about your future struggles! You aren't getting Modric from us, get used to it, Levy will never let utd take the ***** again, this is a different Spurs, we hold all the cards. We aren't poor we don't have to sell him, so if we do why should it be financially beneficial to the buying club. Stop forgetting he's got 4 years + to go on his contract, stop forgetting he's not yours or Madrid's, stop forgetting that Modric agreeing to any deal has no value whatsoever until Levy & Spurs want to sell him. Lastly stop talking about our players, our players NOT F_CKING YOURS, or isn't your squad interesting enough to talk about?

Touched a nerve have we. Yet another semi psychotic rant from a spurs fan. This is football players get linked with clubs everywhere everyday. This leads fans to talk about said players.
