Monday Night Farce!
It hasn`t taken long for those who televise football to take the wind out of my sails and send me into a fit of pique.
The first fixture of the season is always awaited with fascination.
It`s a time whereby you get to see how the new players look like settling in and a time to soak up the suns rays (we don`t get many of them during the football season) and generally have a relaxed afternoon.
But being who we are, it`s never that straight forward is it!
Today the television companies have announced which games they`ll be covering and yes, you`ve guessed it, we`ve been moved to the Monday Night Football slot, or as we like to call it, the Monday Night Farce.
Instead of having a relaxed opening fixture, away to Everton, we now need to hike across to Goodison Park for a 20:00 hours kick off and then get back home in the early hours of the morning.
Yes, you`ve guessed it, football is coming back!
