Fletcher Concerns Increasing

Fletcher Concerns Increasing

The vibes relating to a possible return for Darren Fletcher are not looking good.

Our Scottish midfielder, who has been struggling with a bowel condition since it was diagnosed last November, doesn`t appear to be any nearer a comeback.

When Sir Alex Ferguson was asked to field a question on whether the twenty-eight year old would be available for pre-season training, the response from the boss, was not what we wanted to hear with Sir Alex commenting,

"We`ll wait and see about that. Obviously the boy is trying very hard to get back to his level."

"It`s not going to be easy but we`ll give him every possible chance and we`ll see how he does."

"He kept himself active towards the end of the season and replaced Paul Scholes as reserve team coach when Scholes decided to come back as a player. Darren`s a terrific lad and we all hope he can come back."

Unfortunately, the longer Darren`s absence goes on the more I feel for his future, how about you?

As much as I'd love to see him back and I really do hope he can make a return, I just can't see it happening. Such a shame seeing as he was our best midfielder and had finally started showcasing how good he was after years of being at the club. We should seriously consider finding a replacement :(
