Berbatov - Hanging on in There!

Although there are several suitors wanting to offer Dimitar Berbatov a contract for next season, it appears the Bulgarian striker is reluctant to leave Old Trafford.

Several sources are inferring that although there has been interest from the likes of Galatasaray, Spurs, Paris St Germain and Lazio, our record signing isn`t prepared to move on if it means taking a pay-cut.

In effect this means that Berbatov is prepared to sit out the last year of his contract before moving on next summer, unless somebody can tempt United to lower the fee and add the balance to Dimitar`s salary!

Surely he wants to play regular football with the quality he has? Just to sit on the bench is a pure waste unless it is just about his wage pack?

I worry that is the case with a lot of players these days. More bothered about their bank balance than regular game time. He wouldn't care how much they were offering to pay if United had him on a pay as you play. Shame because he's a bloody good player it's beyond me. He's surely earned more in his time at United than most people will see in a lifetime. But won't take a pay cut to an amount that is still well beyond anything most people earn. They need to take a step back and realise how privileged they really are.
