Will Sir Alex get his man?

The chase to bring Leighton Baines from Goodison Park to Old Trafford continues to gather momentum.

It is looking as if Baines will be coming to Old Trafford but the only thing that will need resolving is the price.

Everton are looking at £20 million for their left back whilst Sir Alex is rumoured to be willing to pay around £15 million.

Reports suggest that United want Baines on board ready for their pre-season tour which starts on 16th July.

Expect something to materialise in the next couple of weeks.

£20m for Baines? lol ***** off, even £15m is ridiculously high. £10m MAX

Leighton Baines is 100% worth £20mil!! He is one of the best left backs in the prem; he is just as good as Cole-if not better (and I'm not just saying this because I'm an Everton fan!) Being an Everton supporter and watching him week in and week out I see the level that he plays at. Baines is an excellent crosser of the ball, he can score great goals (free kicks etc) and his work rate going forward and going back is exceptional!! He is a great player and I would hate to see him go, at any price!

Looking forward to seeing how this one plays out after the Lescott to City debacle a few seasons back. Will Moyes dig his heels in and spout all manner of bollox like he did about City or will it be a nice friendly negotiation with mates agreeing a reasonable price? I know what my money is on.

Don't want Baines. Again he's a fantastic player like Modric but again like Modric he might have 5-7 years at the top of his game before hitting the decline. For the money involved i'd sooner see us go for someone younger again, who can do a good job at LB and is potentially cheaper and better.

So Jordi Alba, the Spanish left back at Euro 2012 costs Barca 14 million euros but Baines, Englands bench warming left back, costs us 15 to 20 million sterling, wtf is going on here?
Kanchelskis
Your typical overrated English premium Kanchelskis. That and Barcelona seem to get every decent player out there at a cut price deal.
TheFamousNo7
Barca get everyone at cheap prices. The whole of UEFA is biased towards them so they just come in for a player with frankly offensive offers of about half the players value an unsettle them look at the way they got fabrigas
MotorMad
True that MM they do seem to play the angelic more than a club bs a lot for the public but then unsettle players at other clubs and basically get their way, it all seems a little underhanded to me and I generally like Barca, at least a lot more than Real Franco.
Kanchelskis
Your right No7 there seems to be a premium expected when an English clubs buys within its own national structures.
