A Late Return for Rooney

Although he may not have had the best of tournaments, it looks as if Wayne Rooney will get some time to put his feet up in the next few weeks.

Apparently, those players who participate din the Euro 2012 Finals will be given a full three weeks off to recuperate and will not report for training until July 16th which is, incidentally, the day United`s squad fly to Durban to start their pre-season tour.

However, we should point out that Rooney isn`t the only one who`ll not make the start of the pre-season tour with Danny Welbeck, Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Patrice Evra and Nani all being put through a separate fitness programme at Carrington rather than going off on tour.

well he wasn't fit for the Euro's so surely he needs to be back and to get fit? Thought the bloke was a carthorse for England.
The Fear
Looked fat and unfit for the Euros, despite Hodgsons efforts to insist the contrary it was there for everyone to see. We've got to sum up whether it's in our best interests to not give him a break and risk burn out or an injury or to rest him and have him come back unfit and not match ready, the latter is surely in our best interests.
