Young Was Off Key!

Although there are numerous pundits concentrating on how poor Wayne Rooney may have performed at the Euro 2012 Finals, Ashley Young, it has been pointed out, didn`t have the best of tournaments either.

Which in a way; is strange because going into the tournament Ashley was a leading nomination to be considered England`s most consistent performer.

Perhaps the 'park the bus` philosophy employed by Roy Hodgson may have stifled his game but his poor tournament was capped by the penalty miss that rattled the bar and played it`s part in our eventual exit from the competition.

Would anyone like to expand on why Ashley didn`t do himself justice?

Ash was amongst the worst of a bad bunch in my opinion. He didn't develop in the last year with Villa, I don't think he'll be a Man Utd player in a year or two because frankly he's been found out. Be interesting if he can prove me wrong, I just see a very average player who just ever now and then does a great free kick
The Fear
Young is your typical English player, unplayable one minute and non-existent the next. Not sure whether his poor tournament was down to that sudden inexplicable drop in form he suffers from, whether, like The Fear has already said his been sussed or whether, like most players nowadays, he just cant cut it at international level, maybe he buckled under the pressure. If I had to go with one I reckon its the whole unable to adjust to international football thing, like most of our players I think the transition from the clubs playing style, philosophy and strength to Englands playing style, philosophy and strength was too much.
