Rooney`s Optimistic!

The euphoria at topping Group D has given the England squad renewed optimism that they can pull off a major surprise in the Euro 2012 Finals

Also, with Wayne Rooney available and in goal-scoring mood, the nation is suddenly getting behind the team and starting to believe that a surprise could be on the cards.

With Italy next up on the agenda, this Sunday, Wayne Rooney has spoken to the media about the quarter-final, remarking,

"We`ve a great group of players and we`re confident. It`s not going to be an easy game but we`ve the players, we`ve the belief and we`ve the togetherness to do a job on them.

"Once you get to this stage of the competition anything can happen."

"We`re more organized than ever. The lads have all been fighting for each other. We want to do this together, so I think we`ve got a great chance."

"We feel good, we`ve prepared well and we`re looking forward to it."

I think the whole country is looking forward to it Wayne and a win would give everybody a bounce in their step as they head off to work on Monday morning to begin another mundane working week!

With the way both teams player, pretty much with everyone in defence par 2 strikers, I can see the game being a bore. Makes me laugh the England team coming out with all these 'we can win it' comments, we all know they buckle at the slightest bit of pressure like they nearly did v the Ukraine. This new found confidence will be shattered and they'll be bought back down to reality before they know it.
