'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Class!

Although hugely disappointed not to have been selected for the squad of twenty-three and then ignored when injuries befell several players in that squad, Rio Ferdinand has remained dignified.

When the unfortunate Gary Cahill was forced to pull out with a double fracture of the jaw and Martin Kelly, of Liverpool, was called up, many wouldn`t have blamed Rio if he`d have flipped his lid at the injustice of it all.

However, it turns out that Rio actually took time out to congratulate Kelly on his call-up whilst also telling him that he could contact him any time he needed any advice.

Now that is the act of a classy man!

Well its not Kelly's fault so it would be wrong to do anything other than congratulate him and offer any assistance. Not sure whether it's been swept under the carpet but the treatment of Ferdinand and Richards is wrong.
