Rooney - We Can Win It!

Rooney - We Can Win It!

The nation eagerly awaits Tuesday evening and a titanic clash with the co-hosts, Ukraine.

England, so close to qualifying for the quarter-finals, after a draw against France and a win over Sweden, will also be welcoming back Wayne Rooney with the striker having served the suspension he picked up following the red card he received against Montenegro in the last qualifying fixture.

For the first two games Rooney has had to watch on from the sidelines as England, with Carroll and Welbeck getting on the score-sheet, but now Roy Hodgson seems certain to re-instate the striker in his starting eleven.

Rooney having watched on from the side-lines seems to be particularly buoyant and reckons, after our showing in the first two games, that England could go on and win this tournament, thereby surprising a lot of people, remarking,

"We`re good enough to win it. I know obviously everyone doesn`t want us to build up expectations but I firmly believe that we`ve got the players to do it."

"You need a bit of luck as well but we`ve got a good opportunity."

"We`ve always believed. A country like ours needs to be there with a shout of winning major tournaments and I firmly believe that."

"We`ve got the squad, we`re more organized than we have been as long as I`ve been in the squad and we are hard to beat."£

"If we keep doing that and keep working there`s no reason we can`t go far and be in with a shout of winning it."

Let`s take it one game at a time shall we Wayne? There`s still an awful long way to go and against some pretty decent opposition might I add.
