Welbeck - Attack More!

During England`s opening gambit in the finals of Euro 2012, Danny Welbeck did as well as anybody when it came to personal performances.

Our young striker, as well as leading the line with Ashley Young playing behind him, Danny was also prominently involved in ensuring his defensive duties were carried out with aplomb.

As we start to focus on the next game, a fixture against Sweden (a side we struggle to beat) Danny was speaking at a press conference, in Poland, where he inferred that he hoped England would be more of an attacking force than they were against France, commenting,

"You`ll see a much more determined England side."

"We`d have liked a win to start with but we want to get forward and get more goals."

"We have to get more bodies into our attacking third and create more opportunities. When they arrive, the strikers will be ready to put them in."

"France was a start for us and we set a platform."

"We really want to build on that and I think we can improve a lot more."

"We`ve got to go out there and get the three points."


England certainly have and with Wayne Rooney certain to play in the third group game, against the Ukraine, you get the feeling that Danny will need to put in another decent performance to hold onto his starting eleven position!

Classy goal by Welbeck to win the game for us tonight. Walcott our game changing player, who would've thought it? Still not expecting too much from us during the knockout stages, assuming we can beat or draw against the Ukraine.
