Another Powell Update?

Another Powell Update?

It wouldn`t be another day if we didn`t do something on Nick Powell would it?

Well today, hard on the heels of the article that, yesterday, carried the inference that a deal was all but done, we`ve now discovered that Powell will sign a 4 year deal at the end of this month and that Sir Alex has welcomed the signing with the following comment,

"He is an exceptional talent and we`re looking forward to working with him."

All that remains is to be seen whether Powell is dispatched out on loan or whether he is groomed at Old Trafford before being polished up elsewhere!

If we loan him out let it only be Crewe, where he knows he will be played and develop as he's already comfortable there. Personally would like to see him stay and learn from Giggs and Scholes (he won't get that opportunity next year as I imagine this will be there last) as it will serve him well in his development. Hopefully the lad could have the same sort of impact with us as Chamberlain has had with Arsenal. I firmly believe that the true world class players make a mark in the first team at a young age and don't really require loans.

Not to say that I believe it's always the case but it is a good omen for youngsters when they make an immediate impact.
