Evra - Just Like Chelsea?

Yesterday, casting a close eye over the England v France match, it was noticeable that the French looked a far better outfit than that which disgraced itself at South Africa 2010.

With Laurent Blanc (a possible candidate to succeed Sir Alex at Old Trafford) at the helm, the French can consider themselves unlucky not to have taken all three points.

After the game, one of those who fell foul of the ill-discipline in South Africa, Patrice Evra gave his thoughts on the outcome of the fixture with the full-back likening England to a side that adopted a backs-to-the-wall attitude on the club front and came up smelling or roses, with Patrice remarking,

"We are frustrated because we played much better. At times it felt like there were fifteen bodies on us."

"It was difficult for us to find space. They played in the way that Chelsea did against Barcelona."

"People laugh. Maybe they want England to play more football but if they win the tournament like that, they will be happy."

Being a patriotic Englishman, I`d accept anything it takes to win a major tournament, 1966 is a long, long time ago.

I'd sooner see us play fun to watch football and win feck all rather than play boring football and be remembered for it throughout history as the team that won by boring the opposition to death.
