A Tall Story?

A Tall Story?

Tonight, hoping to put the fear of God into the English with a goal or two; will be the French striker, Karim Benzema.

Benzema, under the tutorship of Jose Mourinho, at Real Madrid, has flourished this season, eliminating the fears that, at twenty-four years of age, he was never going to fulfill the early career promise that highlighted him as something special.

However, as two nations prepare to collide this afternoon, Benzema has come up with an odd claim.

The young Frenchman is of the opinion that Manchester United have been pursuing his signature for the last four years, but he has also taken great delight in informing those willing to listen that he has no intention of leaving Real Madrid for Old Trafford.

Now I`ve nothing to contradict his claims but whilst I reckon he`d be a great addition now, I`m not sure about one, two or three years ago when his form was hardly as electric!

The thing is there's most probably loads of clubs monitoring his situation and checking his availability, it's what happens in football. He shouldn't feel so special as no doubt all clubs do it with a variety of players like Fergie did with Rbery just a couple of years ago.

Slur was accused of tapping Benzema up by the Lyon president back in 2008. When Owen signed for U*d he revealed that he was second choice to Benzema ----- “The manager’s voice is pretty distinctive,” Owen said, “so I knew it wasn’t a wind-up. He said, ‘We are looking for a striker. I’m going to be up front, we went for Benzema and once that was a no-go we looked around for players who are going to score goals.----- Where were you then Red Boy?
