Going Dutch?

A leading tabloid, this morning, carries an exclusive that Sir Alex Ferguson is going to go Dutch to bolster our midfield.

With the future of Darren Fletcher shrouded in doubt, Sir Alex, if the tabloid has gauged matters correctly, is set to bid for the Dutch midfield enforcer Kevin Strootman.

Strootman, currently on the books of PSV Eindhoven, could be surplus to requirements thee due to the impending return of Mark van Bommel.

We`ll keep you informed of any further developments.

He looks like a great playmaker and fits our bill more than what Modric does, being younger, cheaper and displaying great potential. It's just a case of whether PSV would want to sell him only having signed him just a year ago and also whether he makes the jump up from the eredivisie to the premier league and continues his development..

Seems like a good player, at least he ain't another "future prospect" who will just rot in our reserves. Should go straight into our starting 11 or at least challenge for a place. I would prefer this lad over Modric who for me is over rated and over priced.
