'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Rush Starts Now!

If Manchester United are looking to procure a new striker, bearing in mind we`re likely to be without Owen and Berbatov next season, an opportunity arises today to pick up something of a bargain.

Demba Ba, when he left West Ham to sign fro Newcastle, was astute enough to have it written into his contract that he could leave for a fee rumoured to be in the region of £7 million and that £2.5 million of that would be payable to the player himself.

However the red-top press, this morning, have revealed that this clause in his contract is only applicable for the next two months and is activated today. Therefore, if we do harbour any ambitions to snare Demba Ba to give us a quartet of striker in Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez and Ba; that would serve us well next season, we`d better get our skates on as there is sure to be competition for the Senegalese international.

We don't need him so signing him would be a waste of time and money. He's a good striker no doubt but he doesn't really offer us anything different to what we've got already. If Berby couldn't beat Hernandez and Welbeck to that striker role then I doubt Ba will. If Fergies looking to implement A faster style of play Ba won't fit into it as he's not fast, nowhere near as fast as Welbeck and Hernandez anyway. Furthermore we've got plenty of promising strikers to select from to make the striking quartet and provide back-up. One of King, Macheda or Keane are more than capable.

Think you've got more important things to spend your money on than another striker - like a LB and a couple of midfielders.
