A Chance for Jones!

A Chance for Jones!

The build up to the finals of Euro 2012 continue this Saturday with England entertaining Belgium at Wembley.

The game is England`s last before they depart for the finals and the Belgium side are expected to give England a good test.

For one player in the England squad, the last twelve months have been almost 'Roy of the Rovers` stuff.

Phil Jones joined Manchester United, from Blackburn, and has seen his career go from strength to strength. So much so that he is on the verge of establishing himself in Roy Hodgson`s starting eleven for that crucial first fixture against France.

Jones, who played in Hodgson`s first match in Oslo, is likely to start against Belgium, at Wembley on Saturday, with his chief rival for the spot, Glen Johnson, set to be ruled out with an injury.

Jones, who is able to play in the centre of defence as well as in midfield, could well turn out to be the kind of versatile player England need when tournaments like Euro 2012 come along.

Best of luck to him, he's a more solid defensive option than Johnson anyway he just lacks experience. Still bemused at Roy's selection anyway and how Richards wasn't selected for the RB slot and why Johnson and even Downing are in the team.
