'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Acceptance?

Continuing on from my assumption, of yesterday, that Ashley Young will be a starter for England in the Euro 2012 opener, against France, Ashley Young has given a great interview to one of the tabloids.

In it Ashley speaks about a variety of subjects but the one that intrigues me the most is the part where he talks about settling in with the England squad,

With 20 caps under his belt, talks about being accepted by the group remarking,

"I`ve been chipping away with a few goals, assists and starting regularly which is something I`ve set out to do."

"Hopefully, fingers crossed, if I keep playing the way I have been then we can have success at this tournament."

"I think I`ve always felt part of the group. There`s a great spirit. Whenever you meet up everyone gets on with everyone else. You`re playing for your country; it`s an honour to pull on an England shirt."

"It can be daunting when you first come into a squad. It was for me when I first got in, but I was made to feel at home straightaway and that`s what good players do."

"They do their best to help you bed in and feel part of the squad immediately it helps with togetherness."

Can Ashley inspire England to Euro 2012 glory or are we destined to have another disappointing tournament?

Glad Ashley is enjoying playing for England but every time someone goes into a challenge on him no doubt United fans all over will be flinching. England won't get past the group stages though.
