'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The King Is Dead, Long Live the King?

Well something along those lines!

Dave Whelan hinted yesterday that he was of the opinion that Sir Alex Ferguson would retire at the end of this season and, just as you would expect, the press have latched onto it to appoint the next manager of Manchester United.

In doing so they`ve hardly had t put more than a couple of brain cells to work when they`ve come up with the name of Pep Guardiola.

The ex-Barcelona boss is on a year long sabbatical, supposedly recharging his batteries and that fits, perfectly, the time scale.

As to whether there`s any truth in any of this, the retirement or Pep`s appointment, it`s hard to say but, on a hot Sunday morning here in the UK, it does give us something to ponder over as we head down the pub for a traditional Sunday lunch time pint.

Guardiola anyone?

Guardiola or Mourinho after Fergies gone to steady the ship. Despite signing a new contract I can only imagine it being Mourinho as, lets face it, contracts aren't worth the paper they're signed on nowadays. Would be interesting to see how Guardiola gets on in a different league though with a different group of players, devoid of the world class bunch he had at Barca and see if he can get the same results.

I'd say your much more likely to end up with David Moyes once taggart rides off into the setting sun.

just cant see Guardiola coming to the swamp...... sorry, muchmore likely to get Moyes, as he is used to woeking on a shoestring budget, as the Glazers will not the purse strings loose, anytime soon, nor sell the club either,
