Waiting for Vidic

Waiting for Vidic

I`ve often wondered if our noisy-neighbours would be in such an enticing position if we hadn`t of lost the services of Nemanja Vidic, through injury.

My conclusion is that it would have been us picking up that 20th title this afternoon if the Serbian hadn`t of picked up that awful knee injury in Baslel.

But, thankfully, Vidic is on the way back and the latest update suggests that although his rehabilitation won`t be complete in time for his participation in our pre-season tour of Asia, he could be ready for the start of the season with Sir Alex Ferguson remarking to the media,

"Vida won`t be going on the summer tour - but hopefully he will be ready for the start of the season."

"It`s not been easy for him because he`s been the only one in the gym."

Indeed there is nothing worse than the solitude associated with coming through the rehabilitation necessitated by a major injury.

Vidic to us is what Kompany is to City. We've really missed him with our defence losing it's discipline and order without him. Hopefully he comes back largely unaffected by the injury and fit and raring to go. If he suffers any more injury set backs then we really need to look at signing another CB.
