'If It's Football, It's Vital'

You Can Only Have?

Sir Alex appears to be laying down the law as far as Team GB, at the Olympics, is concerned.

Not waiting to see his pre-season plans wrecked by players playing in this over-hyped competition, Sir Alex has informed the Football Association and Stuart Pearce, that the only over-age player he is prepared to release is Ryan Giggs.

Sir Alex has stated that the likes of Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans and Paul Scholes will not be released for the tournament.

This comes hot-on-the-heels of Sir Alex having already negotiated with the Mexican FA the non-availability of Javier Hernandez for the Mexican side.

Good on you Sir Alex!

The fact that Giggs is the only player over 23 allowed to play for team GB Next year suggests it may well be his last year (I've never seen him struggle to move and be so uninvolved quite like he did v City) and Fergies being sympathetic and letting him compete and is also going to be using him more sparingly and more as a back up player for next season. I assume Scholes isnt allowed to be selected due to him not wanting to represent his country otherwise I'm quite concerned if he still has leading role next season as we really should be looking to our future, Cleverley.
