'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Not the End of the World?

My admiration for Gary Neville was upped a notch last season.

Neville, who had served club and country so well for over a decade, simply acknowledged that he had reached a point whereby he couldn`t match performances of the past and chose to retire instantly.

Since then, Neville has made the smooth transition from being a player to being a highly respected pundit on Sky Sports.

There`s no doubt that as we approach a pivotal weekend whereby the title will finally go one way or the other, Neville will be part of the Sky Sports team that covers both matches.

Although Gary is expected, in his new role, to display a degree of impartiality, we`ve no doubt he`ll secretly be hoping that it is United who emerge victorious and that City slip up.

But, with many of us prepared to accept the inevitable, Neville doesn`t see not winning the title as the end of the world, revealing in an interview in the media this morning,

"If we were to lose the league, well, we`ve had this type of season before."

"I`ve been part of teams who`ve fond it difficult to get over the line. I think of Arsenal chasing us down in 1998, drawing at West Ham in 1995 or other seasons when it`s fallen away."

"It happens and it`s not the end of the world, even though it is a particularly bitter pill to swallow - especially with it being to our local rivals."

"You just have to get on with it and recover and regroup, learn from it, come back next season and fight like never before."

But it`ll still be a bitter pill to swallow with our noisy-neighbours ruling the roost, I`d imagine it is going to hurt far more than seeing the likes of Chelsea or Arsenal declared as Premier League champions.

As I said before that such things happen,we can't win everything,u win some and u lose some. Not even the great Barca team can win major titles every season so as u see every great team has to go through their ups and downs BUT the main difference about such great teams are that they always strike back.Winning is a habit that they can't live without and its in their DNA,so I'm cool, relaxed knowing that we will be back better prepared and in a better condition as well!!!!!!Always a Devil.

Plus when u have a Sheikh splashing out like a Russian before him then even his toy should be winning a cup or two or else it would be a disgrace!!!!!!

Of course it's not the end of the world, City are simply setting a new bar for us to respond to similar to what Chelsea, Arsenal and Blackburn have done before them.
