Torn Two Ways!

Torn Two Ways!

The quite probable loss of that 20th top flight title looks to be sitting heavily on the shoulders of Sir Alex.

Selecting some quotes from the tabloid press, it appears that in the aftermath of the defeat at the Etihad Stadium and the preceding 4-4 draw with Everton, Sir Alex is torn between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Reflecting on the City defeat, Sir Alex, in his comments, contemplates following City`s defensive tactics, remarking,

"In the end we just ran out of time, as Mancini made changes to give him five at the back. It`s the Italian mentality - and maybe we should sometimes go down that road."

"We could certainly have done with bolting up the game against Everton."

"If we had done just a fraction of what City did, I would probably be saying quite a different thing."

But, then that old attacking philosophy kicks back in with Sir Alex further remarking,

"It is not in our nature to put up the shutters and I like to think it is our attacking, adventurous approach that has made United famous."

"On balance it`s a policy that has also served us well in terms of trophies."

"But if we lose the league this year there is no doubt the pivotal match was the 4-4 draw."

So what is the solution?

A partial compromise perhaps!

As far as changing according to the situation is concerned it should be done when the stakes are so high,we have done it before,so I don't see any problems with that!!!!!!!

Doubt it merlin however I watched the 1-0 loss to City thinking he looked really old that game, it really did look as othe pressure and build up to that game drained him. Yes we could do with shutting up shop every now or again it would never hurt but personally I'd prefer it if we were just smarter. The Everton 4-4 could've stayed 4-2 if the players maintained their concentration and discipline instead we gave the ball away cheaply, got over adventurous (***** knows why we were winnig 4-2 and didn't need to be) and sloppy.

When Fergie brings on Jones for Scholes when it's already 4-4 you know it's a sub thats been made too late, the game needed that earlier.
