At First an Eerie Silence

The appointment of Roy Hodgson as the England boss has created quite a stir.

Initially, apart form the tabloid pres smocking his speech impediment, the players were slow in coming forward and having an opinion about the appointment.

Perhaps this was because many believed it to be a no-brainer that Harry Redknapp would get the position and they were left a little dumbstruck.

But that initial hesitance to say anything appears to have subsided with Rio Ferdinand making some noise about being available to play for England this summer.

Now whether this was prompted by the news, printed yesterday, about Roy being determined to get Rio and John Terry playing and communicating again remains to be seen, as does a lot about Roy`s reign.

I guess we can only sit back and wait and see what happens when Roy announces his first squad!
