Rooney Misses Out (Again)

Having been beaten by Robin Van Persie for the Professional Footballers Association Player of the Year Award, it transpires that Wayne Rooney has been beaten by the Gunner for another significant award.

Van Persie has scooped a double after it was revealed that he is also the Football Writers Player of the Year as well.

Once again Rooney has taken second spot with an added bonus for united fans of the born-again Paul Scholes taking third.

Perhaps consolation, for missing out, will come with a Premier League title win!
