Grasping at Straws

Grasping at Straws

The manager of our noisy-neighbours has got his knickers in a right old twist.

Having seen his side throw away the title, on the back of a very poor run of form, he`s now floundering around trying to discover a reason why United have nipped ahead of them as the finishing line approaches.

It appears that Roberto is laying the blame firmly at the feet of the referees who, he believes, favour Manchester United.

Roberto, speaking ahead of the round of fixtures this weekend, has remarked,

"The rules are not the same for everyone, they are sometimes different."

"This is a situation I don`t like because the rules should be the same for everyone - for us of for United or for West Brom."

"Every team should play with 11 players. The man on the pitch in a back shirt doesn`t have a blue shirt or a red shirt or a white shirt."

"Everyone can make a mistake, but not like this."

"There are some moments in the season when the mistake Is more important. There are other moments that are not so much."

Obviously referring to penalties we`ve been given, or have not been given against us, perhaps, if Roberto is looking for reasons why his season has imploded, should look no further than the lack of team spirit that he`s not helped to foster amongst the mercenaries at the Etihad Stadium.
