Jamie Phoenix Signs

FC United have signed the played described by Karl Marginson as a "great replacement for Steve Torpey". Jamie Phoenix was at Stafford Rangers of the Nationwide Conference last season and turned down offers from several clubs higher in the pyramid to come and play for FC United.

On capturing his signature, Margy said: "He`s got a great left foot and absolutely bags of pace; I`ve no doubt that along with Josh Howard he will be the fastest player at the club. He`s desperate to play for FC United, and I`m really happy to have made such a quality signing for the left of midfield. Although lots of players have done a great job filling-in in that position, I always feel it`s important to have a naturally left-footed player to play there."

Jamie has not signed in time for tonight`s game against Nelson, but should be available for Saturday`s visit of Nantwich.

Joz Mitten Departs for Flixton

Popular front-man Joz Mitten announced last week that he was leaving the club and signed for Flixton.

United manager Karl Marginson said "the situation for Joz was simply that he wanted to play guaranteed football. I brought everyone from the squad in before the season and explained the situation, and Joz just felt that he`d get more opportunities to play elsewhere. He had a couple of offers from different clubs and decided to go to Flixton. He remains a great mate of mine and he was always excellent to have in the dressing room and I wish him all the best for the future".
